The Hot Dogs kicked off the football season at Benton Central for the scrimmage. The team came out with great energy and a high level of execution for the entire night. Offensively the Dogs were led by the running back duo of Lalo Castillo and Jackson Woods who each found the endzone during the scrimmage. Dennis Barkley orchestrated a brief but efficient passing attack with completions to Derron Barkley and Lalo Castillo. The defense has made incredible improvement since the start of practices in the summer. The defense only allowed one score the entire night and created 5 turnovers. Takoda Fischer and Keifer Dooley lead the secondary with interceptions. RJ Cornman and Jackson Woods played well on the DL with RJ breaking up passes and the pair combining for several sacks. The Hot Dogs open up the season at Home for Senior Night on August 23 against Clinton Central.
