The Lady Hot Dogs were off for a few days for Christmas before they started their Indiana Kitchen Classic tournament with a game against Winamac in Case Arena. We were led in scoring by Ava Jarman with 4 and Given West with 3. On the glass we were led by Kynlee Myers with 8 and Briana Flores with 4. The last game of the Indiana Kitchen Classic had us playing against Taylor on Friday afternoon January 3rd. In a nip and tuck game the Lady Hot Dogs used a full court pressure defense along with a trapping 23 zone to make the Titans uncomfortable being down 9 with 3 minutes to go. The score ended up with us getting beat 48-36, but scoring a season high in the process. The night saw a 23 point night by Ella McAtee and a double-double by Ava Jarman with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Given West chipped in 3 points, Briana Flores pulled down 6 rebounds, Gracie Layton picked up 4 rebounds, Ella McAtee grabbed 5 rebounds, and Erin Wills 3 rebounds, Also, Ella McAtee stole the ball 3 times and Ava Jarman added a block to the defensive effort. We also handled the ball well making some really nice key passes and offensive plays down the stretch of the game. The Lady Hot Dogs are back in action Tuesday evening, January 7th at Home against West Lafayette with the JV game starting at 6 pm and the Varsity starting at approximately 7:30 pm. Go Hot Dogs!!!
