Volleyball Results From Rossville

The volleyball team fell to Rossville last night 2-3. The girls fought back after being down 0-2 to try to pull off the reverse sweep but fell just short, losing 13-15 in game five. The coaches are proud of their grit to fight back and know that lessons learned in this match will help them with their many upcoming road trips. Jalen Smith had a career best with 47 assists. Lily Rockhold also had a career best of 32 kills on the night. Caroline Queen continues to grow in her new role with 11 kills, 9 digs, and 4 aces. Chloe Moudy had 4 kills and two solo blocks - one of which kept the team alive in game five. Adelaide Keck added 3 kills and 3 digs, and Sophie Michael had 3 digs and an ace. Grace Myers had 2 aces on a perfect serving night going 13/13. Maddi Shoemaker was a spark off the bench chipping in an ace and four digs. In JV action, the team fell to Rossville 0-2, making improvements as the match went on. Standing out for the team was Sadie Sheets with 4 aces and 2 digs, and Maylie Perez with 2 kills. The team travels to Southmont on Thursday to open conference play in the new Monon Athletic Conference.
